Scale: C lydian dominant
Description: The fourth mode of melodic minor, combining Lydian's raised 4th with a flat 7 (1, 2, 3, ♯4, 5, 6, ♭7). This is the archetypal scale for 7♯11 chords and non-resolving dominants in jazz, fusion and film scores, giving a bright but slightly edgy dominant sound.
