Scale: C messiaen's mode #5
Description: One of Olivier Messiaen's modes of limited transposition: a six-note symmetric scale made of two augmented triads separated by a semitone. It has a strongly colouristic, non-functional sound and appears in Messiaen's organ and orchestral works as well as in modern jazz for its built-in major 3rds and tritones.
