Description: The fifth mode of the major scale (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, ♭7), essentially a major scale with a flat 7th. It is the default sound for dominant 7 harmony in rock, blues and funk, and is the basis of many one-chord vamps and blues-rock solos.
