Scale Notes & Info
Scale: C pelog
Description: Originally a heptatonic tuning system of Indonesian gamelan, often used in practice as various five-note subsets. On Western instruments, Pelog-type scales are realised as uneven hemitonic pentatonics with characteristic clustered semitones, giving the distinctive, bell-like colour of Balinese and Javanese ensembles and inspiring many 20th-century composers and film scores.
